Trap Shooting

Our six trap fields have 6 Pat trap machines and Canterbury voice release systems. The trap committee strives to provide the very best ATA targets, setting speed with a radar gun and the proper angle of launch with a digital protractor. Targets are then checked with the standard field stakes and T-bars.

Regular Trap Practice is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings at 9 am. ATA Registered Shoots are on the 3rd Saturday of every month, except when there is a conflict with another shooting event. Changes in registered shoot schedules will be posted on this web site and Club Calendar Page. To get on the email list for registered shoot dates and reminders, please email our trap committee chairmen, Kim Wilson and Brian Harmon.

While we can’t guarantee high scores, we will do everything to throw the best birds possible. We have great people from the three-state area who come for both the registered and non- registered shoots, so you can look forward to lots of fun!

Monthly Registered Shoots

Coast Rifle and Pistol Club is very active in hosting ATA Registered Shoots. Currently, monthly shoots are held on third Saturday of each month. You will be notified by email of each upcoming shoot by the trap chairmen, either Kim Wilson or Brian Harmon. If you are not now on the email list to be so notified, please request to be added to the list by emailing both Kim Wilson and Brian Harmon at their respective email addresses.

The program for our monthly shoots is usually: 100-16 yard targets; 100-handicap targets; and 100 doubles targets. From time to time, the shoot program will be changed, i.e. 200-16 yard targets and 100- handicap targets, etc. You will be notified of the change in program in the email Notice of Shoot you receive from Kim or Brian. The shoot scores are sent to the ATA and are available at the Shooters Information Page of the ATA website. The scores appear monthly in Trap and Field magazine.

Over the course of the many years of registered shoots at CRPC, great scores have been posted and many fine, lasting friendships have been formed. We do our best to encourage both. Please come join us for what we hope will be an enjoyable trap shooting experience.
