✅ What to do
The guide below shows where holster draw and movement are permitted; additional restrictions listed below still apply.
HOLSTER DRAW ALLOWED Ranges 4a • 6 • 7 Movement while shooting is allowed.
HOLSTER DRAW — WHEN ONLY SHOOTER ON RANGE Ranges 4b • 5 No movement with a loaded firearm.
HOLSTER DRAW NOT ALLOWED Ranges 1 • 2 • 3 • 3a
Holster practice conducted under these rules is permitted shooting activity and does not violate CRPC’s prohibition on open or concealed carry.
- Shoulder holsters may never be used at any range at CRPC.
- Crossdraw is defined as any holster worn on the side of the body OPPOSITE the hand that will draw it. Crossdraw may never be used at any range at CRPC. In this case, it isn't the holster that's the problem—it's the position of the holster.
- On Ranges 4a, 6, and 7, a loaded firearm may not be carried into the covered areas of those ranges.
- Before leaving any individual range, your firearm must be unloaded. Under no circumstances may a member move from one range to another, or otherwise leave an individual range, with a loaded firearm. An unloaded handgun may remain in a holster while moving between ranges.
⚠️ Good To Know
If you are not already competent and comfortable drawing and firing safely from a holster, get instruction from a qualified instructor or experienced member trained in safe holster use before practicing on your own.
There is no rate-of-fire restriction on the handgun ranges. You may shoot at any rate you can safely control, provided that every shot impacts the berm.
As with all shooting at CRPC, you are responsible for keeping the firearm under control, maintaining a safe muzzle direction, and making sure every round stays within the intended impact area.
